I need to exclude from indexing iframe on my site
« on: February 28, 2013, 08:06:04 PM »
Hi Guys

I need to exclude from indexing iframe on my site

I proposed the following

To disable iframe page indexing simply add <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> </ meta> to the header area of the iframe content.

The pages you include the frame on will be indexed just fine, but not the iframe itself.

Do you think

it does not hurt my positions in Google?

my pages will remain in the index Google??

ask for advice

Andrew

Do you use custom code on AWB? I checked all my AWB pages, and none of them has iframes (I don't think AWB ever used iframes).

I'd stay away from iframes, but if you have noindex content on the pages that are displayed in frames, it shouldn't hurt your rankings.

Google will always see you are using iframes, unless you disable indexing the page itself.

What if you put the iframe on a delay so it doesn't load right away?
